has long been a challenge for mobile device manufacturers. Samsung Mobile CIS uses advanced ISOCELL and pixel technologies
to deliver richer images with higher color fidelity, regardless of lighting conditions.

Superiority of unique pixel process technology - ISOCELL.

Samsung proudly presents ISOCELL, a technology that overcomes the challenge to improve image quality while pixel sizes continue to shrink.

This unique technology effectively controls the absorption of electrons with a physical barrier between neighboring pixels. Thus itsubstantially increases light sensitivity, resulting in higher color fidelity even in poor lighting conditions.

ISOCELL lets customers experience increased Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) of at least 3dB to produce high quality images with better sharpness and richness.

Exceptional image quality with innovative pixel technology.

Samsung's advanced ISOCELL technology allows many differentiations through
key pixel technologies including RWB, Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) and Phase
Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) to provide the best image capturing experience to customers.

RWB, an improved color pattern over the traditional RGB, increases light
sensitivity for enhanced low-light Signal-To-Noise Ratio (SNR) characteristic. WDR
prevents inter-pixel blooming to help capture clear images especially under
backlighting conditions.

The slimmest form factor with ISOCELL technology.

Samsung can help make slim mobile cameras without compromising performance.
An imager designed with ISOCELL can feature a widened Chief Ray Angle (CRA) leading to the reduction in thickness by 23% or 1.5mm in case of a 16 MP CMOS Image Sensor, from 6.5mm to 5.0mm. This avoids having a bulge on the camera at the back of the mobile device.

It also has other great benefits, such as reduction in pixel size to 1.0㎛, which contributes to slim and high resolution smartphone cameras.
